Oh Thank God - the sky lit up tonight and I was able to rush out of the house like a mad woman and curse at every slow driver in my way before getting to the river bank and taking some shots!!  (what IS it with slow drivers??!!!  Don't they know I'm in a hurry??)   My camera was beginning to think I forgot about it!

I bought a polarizer today but I'm not sure what the hell to do with it.....  quick!  someone explain this to me!!


So, the other day I was trying to plant some flowers my friend gave me and I walked around my front yard until I found a spot that looked good for it.   I knelt down in the same spot I've knelt in a thousand times before and started digging a hole.  There was an ant on my foot so I flicked it off.  We have ants here in our area.  LOTS of ants.   Big ones.  Small ones.  Medium ones.  Black ones.  Red ones.  All freakin' kinds of the little bastards!  I started to dig again and I had an ant on my arm.  So I flicked it off again and thought quietly 'what the.....??"  Picked up my little shovel AGAIN and suddenly I feel crawly all over so I look down and I'm COVERED in the little buggers!!! It seems that I unwittingly sat down right in the middle of a large ant hill!!!     So I jumped up and did the funky chicken right there on the front lawn, with a bad case of tourettes and a really bad dance step, while slapping myself silly.  Good grief!!!

So, I've decided to wage a serious war on the little bastards!!

I've got some ant poison that I've been sneaking around with whilst wearing my grass coloured camouflage gear  a few times a day, putting a puddle here, a puddle there.  I've sprinkled corn meal all over my front lawn (heard they eat it and explode).   If it works, I may have an ant Armageddon on my front lawn.  I'm on the look out for some Aspartame to buy - heard they eat it and it kills them (so what's it doing to us?? hmmmmmm...) I need to buy it in bulk,  and I've discovered that if I pick up my garden ornaments that are hollow, there are large mounds under neath them where they lay their eggs!!  Yes, how disgusting it is!!!  :blech:  I picked one up and as soon as the light hit the little vermin they went crazy picking up these HUGE larvae and scrambling around to drag them down the holes to the dark!  (really, aren't ants amazing?  They can pick up a huge thing that's bigger and heavier than they are and carry it around no problem!)   If I didn't hate them so much I'd probably find them fascinating)  So, I've replaced all the ornaments and I'm going to give them a couple of days, and then I'm going to plug in my kettle and pour boiling water over them.  If nothing else works, that oughta do it.....   I'll boil the little f'ers!!!

Now, I realize that we are all God's creatures, but I'm so sick of them!  My front lawn is riddled with tiny little black hills, and as this experience has shown me they are starting to make actual piles, so I must stop them before they take over my whole lawn!!!  I can't have it!!!  I WON'T have it!!! BAH!!!

Well, today I had to do some shopping so I was getting dressed.  I bought a pair of jean shorts a while back that have the nice trendy holes and fraying on them. (remember when we used to throw stuff away when it got like that??  Just think - if we'd have held on to that stuff, we'd all be SO stylish now...)    So anyways, I put my left foot in and then I put my right foot in (now do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around   ) and guess what happened?  I got my toes caught in one of those holes, and it threw me off balance!    I went over like a fricken' dead tree in a wind storm  and I never even had a chance to yell "TIMBER" before hitting the floor!!  And I thought that 4 liter milk jug falling out of the fridge shook the house!!!  Damn wood floors - you can't get away with ANYTHING - and let me tell you, the people I live with found it pretty damn amusing.    thankfully nothing hurt but my pride

You know, surprisingly, I have other things I could talk about, but I will call it quits for now seeing as this is long enough already....
